Safra A. Catz sinh ngày 1 tháng 12 năm 1961.
Catz sinh ra ở Holon, Israel, với cha mẹ là người Do Thái. Cha bà là một người nhập cư từ Romania. Bà chuyển từ Israel đến Brookline, Massachusetts lúc 6 tuổi.
